73rd UAAP Swimming Championships! 09/23-25/10

I’ve been swimming my whole life but now that I’m on a swimming hiatus, it feels weird. I kind of miss it. Hee.  Since I’ll be missing this year’s 74th UAAP Swimming Championship, let this be my way to cheer for my team. Competition starts tomorrow! WOOT! See you Sunday guys!

I always loved cheerdance competitions, not only because of the cheerdancing itself, but because of how people are willing to spend their time, their energy and effort to support their schools. School spirit, they say. I really had goosebumps everytime the crowd cheers out. Congratulations to everyone! You all did a very good job with your heart-stopping performances! \m/n_n\m/

UAAP Cheerdance Competition 2011! 09/17/11! :)

It has been a tradition to watch the UAAP CDC with the IDS people IDS, my highschool alma matter. Normally, it’s just Geej and me plus our other IDS batchmates, like Mark, then our IDS friends. But this time, it’s an unusual bunch. Hee. 

Here’s the story: Originally, it was just the three of us, Geej, Mark and me, since almost everyone is busy. But then… thanks for your sometimes-very-helpful-news-feed, Facebook, that I read on Ate Kitty’s FB, that she really wanted to watch since she’s already in Manila for a vacation, only she has no one to go with. Thinking that, “Hey, she’s already in Manila and although we weren’t really close, since she’s a year ahead of us, why not invite her? We’re still IDS people after all.” Without hesitation, she agreed to come. Tadaaaaah! :D

Started lining up at around 11am. If you’re with friends, it’s true you won’t mind the time, the heat of the sun and even the fact that you’re standing for hours already. We’re really positive we could get tickets and be able to watch and shout for our schools. It’s 3pm, but we’re nowhere near the ticket booth. 3:30pm, they announced, without conscience, that tickets are all sold out. Imagine our panic! We searched everywhere for extra tickets! Depressed and already without hope, we found nothing. Then…. I heard someone at the back murmured “tickets”. I instantly ask if she has 5 extras then good Lord she said she has, for p70! Now, IMAGINE OUR JOY AND AMAZEMENT!!!!! 

Ate Kitty, who is actually also very game, invited her HS batchmate, Kuya Grayson, too. They’re both highschool cheerdancers, so it was nice having them around knowing how they can so relate. Hee. Dinner time, their another highschool batchmate, Ardjani, came with her girfriend Nina. It was fun realizing we’re like having an IDS mini-reunion. Only, we’re not all batchmates and we haven’t spoken to each other before. Haha.

I can’t really put into words how amazing and epic this day was. Especially, the ticket part. And aside from loving UP’s awesome awesome performance, I also love how we were able to be together as IDS people. Clearly, the unusual bunch. Haha. <3

Tonight’s the night! American Idol concert in about an hour!
