Sweet reminder.

Someone’s saying YES to one lucky guy tomorrow! YAAAAAY!

Finally saying that most awaited YES to a guy is such a big thing for girls. It’s this part where you get butterflies in your stomach while being all lovey-dovey.  But saying YES varies differently. Some would just say YES through text, some through their small ways and acts and some would go to the extremes. Tomorrow, it’d be one of those extremes and I’m so happy to be a part of it!

I was amazed when SHE gave us these bond papers as reminders for tomorrow’s big day. Seeing the list I was like, REALLY? I mean, WOW! This must be really big! Basically, the plan goes like this: It would all happen in this big mall. There would be assigned people to every station as seen above. Starting on station 1, HE should be able to answer correctly some questions that would lead HIM to a clue to the next station and so on until HE reaches the last station where in HE has to answer the puzzle. So now I tell you the answer to it would be no other than a big sweet “YES”. Then there SHE’d be, waiting. Lastly, as planned, we’d all gather around and clap our hands. Now isn’t that the sweetest thing?! <3

I can’t believe things like these still happen. Hats off to “S” for coming up with this plan. You’re such a sweet girl. Can’t wait for tomorrow!

Tiff: Si Ed, hindi marunong mag-Temple Run.

Me: Eh, ako din eh.

Tiff and Cathy: (In unison) WHY?!!!!!! Ba’t hindi ka marunong???

…

Scene 2: Minutes after, now playing Gold Miner.

Tiff: Favorite ko to.

Me: Ako din, linalaro ko yan dati sa y8.

Tiff, Cathy and Britt: (Still in unison) Anong y8?????

Me: Hindi nyo alam yun????

Them: Hindi eh…

HAHAHAHAHA. Now, I don’t know what to say. :))))) 

Today, this crossed my mind…

I think there are two kinds of “couples.” The first one would be those, in my opinion, who are sweet to each other publicly, expresses their love for each other openly, talks about him or her almost all of the time, and yet you feel happy for them. They get kilig and you feel kilig too. You don’t mind how sweet they are to each other that ants could come crawling to them. Simply, you love their love story. 

Then there are those, again in my opinion, who are sweet to each other publicly, expresses their love for each other openly, talks about him or her almost all of the time, and yet… it feels awkward. You think it’s too much that they need to tone down. Unintentionally and without knowing why, their love story just irritates you. 

Up to now, I still wonder how we unintentionally get to label some relationships. We all know it’s bad to judge but it just happens and we can’t help it.. I don’t even know where I belong to the two before or will belong to in the future. But I hope against all hopes not to the latter. Not to the latter please. 

Earlier this morning, I passed by the swimming pool on my way to my first subject. It’s around 7am which means it’s still training time for the swimming team. Then suddenly, this Kuya staff worker whom I haven’t seen before standing outside the gate of the pool, said…

Kuya staff worker: Miss, hindi ka na ba nagsiswimming?

Me: (Surprised) Kuya, kilala mo ako?

Kuya staff worker: Oo naman. Hindi na ba?

Me: (Even more surprised) Talaga, Kuya? Opo, hindi na po eh.

Awww. Now he just made my “missing swimming” blues up a notch.

January 25, 2012: Santorini!

Ate Joy just received her monthly allowance as the team captain of the UST Women’s swimming team and as per tradition: Dinner date. Her treat!

We were still in our period costumes thus going to the mall to find a good restaurant would be a bad idea. So we chose to eat somewhere near our place and this dainty Korean restaurant we’ve been snubbing for years caught our hungry tummies. As far as I can remember, it’s just the second time we’ve eaten here. The first time, I think, was 2 years ago.

The place is really unique albeit its small space, for everything was Korean. From the movie playing on the TV to the wall covered with KPOP posters. Plus the tables and chairs add to the Korean feel. Seeing it from the outside, you wouldn’t believe there actually exists something like it in between the computer shops and salons.

Unfortunately, the place was crowded that time so I wasn’t able to take pictures and show how it really looks like. The covered walls with KPOP posters and all. Next time. Next dinner date. Hopefully, still Ate Joy’s treat! :)

January 25, 2012: Velada Tomasina

“Velada Tomasina, a living tableau that shows the University of Santo Tomas in the perspective of the cultural milieu of Old Manila at the turn of the 19th century. It seeks to bring us back in time through period costumes, songs, dances, poems, and festivity.”

I could not believe my eyes when I entered the school that day. Everyone was OLD looking. But, definitely in a good way. Marias, Crisostomo Ibarras, Illustrados, Katipuneros, Frailes, to name a few, were walking all over the school. Only, they’re bringing out DSLRs, digicams and cellphones taking pictures of this once in a lifetime event in UST, which was the only hint telling you that you really did not go back in time and no, there are no time machines. The school was also designed with a complete replica of its old campus and Spanish songs were playing in the air to add that old vibe feeling.

 Watching the professors clad in Filipiniana, barong and coats, seeing the staff workers in their Katipunero attire and looking at the guards in their fitting gwardya sibil costumes were all delightful to see. Although I had a hard time looking for my costume which was an ordinary Indio attire, while Ate Joy was in a modern Donya Victoria costume, which by the way were all her clothes. She’s that resourceful. and although the costume’s price stripped off my wallet and Ate Joy didn’t spend a thing on hers, it was all worth it. Fun day! :)

Turning back time? It’s more fun in the Philippines. It’s more fun in UST.

December 30, 2011: Julie Anne San Jose in Iligan!

It’s rare for celebrities to visit our city. So when it was announced that Julie Anne would be there for a charitable concert, we bought tickets right away.

She’s adrobable. Really cute and very charming. She sang like she was just having fun. No hint of nervousness or some sort of thing you get when you’re at the stage in front of many people. The crowd loved her. The last song she sang was Super Bass and I think she did it pretty well. She’s not the Nicki Minaj kinda girl since she’s reserved and young but she could definitely RAP! And totally rocking it.

Anyhoo, during the concert people were shouting Elmo’s name. Having no TV at the dorm, I really didn’t know that they were you know…. Yeah, you prolly already know what I mean. Haha. So I decided to blog this one right after I’ve blogged some pictures of Elmo I took last September at the Candy Fair. Now isn’t that sweeet? HAHAHA. :D

January 17, 2012: Mang Taho for the first time.

It’s prelims week. So looking for a place to study, because everyone thinks that studying inside your comfy room will just make you sleepy and of course studying with your friends is more fun, is not easy this time. Since our usual study places were all full, we decided to walk around hoping to find a place already and study then drink some frappuccino. Then not too far from our place….tadaaaaaaah… we found Mang Taho, which is just around the corner that we’ve been snubbing for years now. The place was just perfect since it wasn’t too crowded and too cold. And the noise of the blender was just bearable. :D
